Evidenced-Based Anxiety Treatment in Austin
Heal Anxiety at its Source
with Specialized Treatment
Are you feeling trapped by constant worry, restlessness, or a lingering sense that you are not safe in your life or relationships? Do these symptoms progress to the point of panic attacks, sleep and eating issues, or feelings of chronic discomfort? When anxiety appears, it can take on a life of its own, causing ripples in every aspect of our lives. At Crossroad Psychotherapy, we provide tools to manage anxiety when it shows up and, more importantly, heal the root causes of anxiety to prevent it in the future.
Our Approach to Anxiety Treatment
Anxiety has many origins: trauma, unstable relationships, past and present stressful life circumstances, social isolation, and as a response to our coping habits, among other sources. Many traditional anxiety treatments focus solely on managing symptoms or solving the daily dilemmas that foster anxiety. Such approaches miss a crucial element of anxiety treatment: healing the effects that the root cause of the anxiety and the continued burden of carrying anxiety have on the nervous system. By healing the core of anxiety, we prevent relapses and also heal common side effects of anxiety such as low self-esteem, relationship issues, and difficulty attaining life goals.
Let's get started.
While our approach to anxiety treatment involves soothing symptoms and finding solutions to life issues, we place particular care around the process of healing the causes of anxiety and the sustained burden of anxiety (i.e. how carrying anxiety over months and years it effects our nervous system, pushes away our sense of vitality and our necessary ability to process emotional experiences to completion, and leaves us feeling isolated, disconnected, and unsafe).
We work to not only provide clients with relief from anxiety symptoms but also with opportunities to grieve the sustained burden of anxiety, heal from isolation and discomfort, and, finally, to experience the felt sense of growth, peace, and one's capacity to navigate their lives and their emotional experiences.
Therapeutic modalities include Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (3rd Wave CBT).
